Denver co-working company continues national expansion – Denver Business Journal

A Denver-based co-working space provider has plans to grow with at least two more facilities in addition to the one that recently opened in the Raleigh.

The opening continues a national expansion for Office Evolution, which has inked deals with franchise owners for eight more centers in North Carolina.

One also opened recently in Greensboro, and two more are planned for the Triad area and five more in Charlotte.

Raleigh couple Tara and Greg Abernathy opened their first Office Evolution franchise in November. Located on the second floor of the First Tennessee building, taking up a total of 6,500 square feet, the space was previously occupied by BOSS, or Byron Office Space Solutions, but the couple bought out the company and inked a new lease.

Tara Abernathy says they are in negotiations for another space in Cary, with a third location to be announced later.

“We think that we have something unique to offer the co-working industry,” she says. “We hope to continue to grow and dominate the market here. We think Office Evolution is that good.”

Tara Abernathy and her husband Greg are opening co-work franchises in the Triangle.

Abernathy says Office Evolution sets itself apart with the extra support it offers to tenants. Each location will have a business center manager on site. The office will host “lunch and learn” sessions and other networking events, while also promoting its tenants on social media.

As the company continues to grow geographically, another added perk is that tenants are able to use any Office Evolution space at any time of day. The Colorado-based company has issued the rights to more than 100 franchises nationwide. New locations have opened recently in Greensboro and Charlotte, and more are on the way.

Before venturing into the co-work space industry, Tara Abernathy worked at McDonald’s for 25 years, rising to the level of regional operations department head based in Raleigh. Greg Abernathy has spent the past nine years working as an engineering consultant and previously held engineering management position with several global electronics manufacturers.
